Ecological restoration in pasture areas with direct seeding

چکیده
The use of direct seeding in projects for the recovery degraded areas has stood out some regions country because its effectiveness, lower operating costs, and ease implementation. Thus, present study aimed to evaluate potential haul ecological restoration a deactivated pasture dominated by Urochloa brizantha, here characterized an invasive weed plant. experiment consisted eight treatments resulting from different combinations seeds (tree herbaceous cover crops), break dormancy tree species (with without), types substrates (clay sawdust). tested did not affect seedling emergence, survival, or initial growth. most established area were Piptadenia gonoacantha, Mabea fistulifera, Dalbergia nigra, Senegalia polyphylla, which could potentially compose list be used forest through sowing techniques. Plant survival at end evaluation period every three months until 14 implementation corresponded density equivalent 4300 plants per hectare, this result compared other techniques, shows muvuca as technique viable under study. However, further studies using higher seed densities are necessary control grass brizantha effectively.

INTRODUCTION Ecological restoration is a rapidly growing field of biology. Grassroots restoration activities have a long history and have recently increased dramatically. These are now being supplemented by state and federally sponsored restoration projects reaching tens and hundreds of millions of dollars, like those in the Everglades, Lake Tahoe, and the Sacramento River and Delta. The acid test of humankind’s relationship to natural systems is the degree to which ecological damage caused by humans is repaired by humans. Technology and science are available, so the remaining stimulus needed for implementation of ecological restoration is the ethical responsibility to do so. Ecological restoration can be regarded as enlightened self-interest for humankind since it increase...
